A long-acting, odorless, water-based suspension

Application:

The product is used for extermination of cockroaches, ants, bedbugs, fleas, flies, mosquitoes, black beetles, red chicken and rat mites and other insects during treatment of premises and adjacent territories at veterinary supervision in the absence of animals.

Composition:

MUSCALURE DELTA contains:

  • 25 mg deltamethrin,
  • 100 mg thiamethoxam.

as active substances.

Functional activity:

The product contains deltamethrin, which is synthetic pyrethroid with insecticide activity, and thiamethoxam, which belongs to neonicotinoids.

Deltamethrin has contact insectocaricidal and repellent action. It is active against insects and mites, including zoophilic insects, of which Haematobia irritans, Haematobia stimulans, Musca autumnalis, Stomoxys calcitrans, gadflies (Tabanidae), gadflies (Hypodermatidae), mosquitoes (Culicidae) and midges (Simuliidae), as well as cockroaches and ants, black beetles and red chicken mite.

Thiamethoxam has contact and intestinal insecticidal action. It is active against winged flies, fleas, cockroaches and other arthropods living in livestock buildings, including those resistant to organophosphorus insecticides, pyrethroids and carbamates.

The mechanism of insectocaricidal action of deltamethrin is to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which causes impaired coordination of movements, paralysis and death of insects. Thiamethoxam is an antagonist of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, causes hyperpolarisation of insect nerve fibre membrane and leads to prolonged opening of sodium channels, causing convulsions, paralysis and death of insects. Does not cause cross-resistance to other neonicotinoids. It has selective toxicity to insects, practically not acting on warm-blooded animals.

Thiamethoxam causes hyperexcitation of neurons, which leads to the opening of neuronal sodium channels. Since pyrethroids bind most effectively to open neuronal sodium channels, the excitation of nerves by thiamethoxam significantly accelerates the action of deltamethrin, which is reflected in the enhancement of its insectocaricidal action in this two-component formulation.

After treatment, the product remains on the surface and is practically non-degradable, which ensures its prolonged insectocaricidal action.

In the recommended concentrations, the insecticid agent does not have local irritating and sensitizing effects. Toxic to aquatic organisms, bees and other beneficial insects.

Usage:

The product has acute insectocaricidal activity and residual effect on insects for 2.5-3 months. Before treatment it is desirable to mechanically clean and wash the room.

Before use the product should be mixed by shaking.

To control crawling insects use a working suspension of the product, prepared at the ratio of 60 ml of the product per 10 litres of water for treatment of 100 m2 of porous and smooth surfaces, with a rate of consumption of 10 and 5 litres, respectively.

To control flying insects use a working suspension of the product, prepared at the ratio of 30 ml of the product per 10 litres of water for treatment of 100 m2 of porous and smooth surfaces, with a rate of consumption of 10 and 5 litres, respectively.

The required volume of the working suspension is prepared immediately before application.

The rate of consumption of the working suspension may vary depending on the type of treated surface: from 50 ml/m2 (non-absorbent surface) to 100 ml/m2 (absorbent surface).

The next treatment is carried out according to entomological indications (when insects appear).

Spraying equipment of various brands may be used for application of the working suspension on surfaces.

Once prepared, working suspension shall be used within one working day. If the treatment process has been halted for more than 30 minutes, the suspension should be re-mixed before use.

The product may interact with other insectocaricidal agents for which compatibility has not been assessed and therefore combination with other agents is undesirable as it may reduce its effectiveness.

It is permitted to mix the product with the insecticidal (larvicidal) agent MUSCALURE-L MAX in one container to prepare a stable working suspension with both anti-imago (MUSCALURE DELTA) and anti-larval (MUSCALURE-L MAX) effects.

The insecticide is compatible with the disinfectant UNIDEZ-1 with preservation of stability and activity, which allows to prepare a working suspension containing both agents. it is also possible to add insecticidal (larvicidal) product ‘MUSCALURE-L MAX to the working suspension in order to carry out a single treatment for disinfection and disinfestation (adults and larvae) at once.

Safety information:

Personal hygiene and safety rules envisaged for work with insectoacaricidal agents should be followed when working with the product.

When working with the product and performing subsequent cleaning of the treated premises, use overalls (smock, headscarf, rubber gloves, goggles). Respirators and goggles shall be used to protect respiratory tract and eyes when working with insectoacaricidal agent.

During the treatment period, feed, food containers and products that may adsorb the insecticide shall be removed from the premises of veterinary surveillance facilities. No animals or unauthorised persons shall be present in the premises at the time of treatment.

All works (disinsection and subsequent cleaning) shall be carried out with open windows. After finishing the work, the room shall be thoroughly ventilated for at least 2 hours until the odour of the product disappears.

Remove the product from the treated surfaces by wet method, first of all from the floor and surfaces of objects that may come into contact with food. In places that do not have contact with people and animals, the product should be left until its effectiveness is completely lost (about 2.5-3 months).

It is forbidden to use empty containers of the product for household purposes, they should be disposed of with household waste.

Accidental poisoning may occur in case of accidental contact and failure to observe precautions. At the first signs of malaise, first aid should be given to the affected person: remove this person from the room, remove contaminated clothing, rinse the mouth with a solution of baking soda (1/2 teaspoon per 1 cup of water) or boiled water.

If the product or its working suspensions get on the skin, carefully, without rubbing, remove it with a cotton swab or a clean rag, then wash with soap and water and apply skin softening cream.

If the product or its working suspensions get into the eyes, immediately rinse them abundantly under running water and inject sodium sulphacyl.

If the product or its working suspensions get inside, drink water with potassium permanganate of weak pink colour, then adsorbent (10-15 tablets of activated charcoal per glass of water). Do not induce vomiting. Seek medical help (take along the product's instructions for use or label).

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the product should avoid direct contact with it. In case of accidental contact and occurrence of allergic reactions contact a medical institution (take along the product's instructions for use or label).
