Veterinary drug Аmoxicillin-800
Therapeutic indications:
Veterinary drug Аmoxicillin-800 is used in calves, pigs and broiler chickens for treatment of bacterial infections, which pathogens are sensitive to amoxicillin. The veterinary drug is highly effective against pasteurellosis, salmonellosis, clostridiosis, colibacteriosis, infectious atrophic rhinitis and erysipelas of pigs.
Composition of the veterinary drug:
1 g of Аmoxicillin-800 water-soluble powder contains:
Pharmacological activity:
The active substance of the veterinary drug is amoxicillin, which is a semi-synthetic antibiotic from the penicillin group with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity. Following pathogens are sensitive to amoxicillin: Staphylococcus spp., Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae, Corynebacterium spp., Clostridium spp., Campylobacter spp., Brucella spp., Salmonella spp., Escherichia coli, Haemophilus spp., Bacteroides spp., Fusobacterium necrophorum, Proteus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis, Listeria monocytogenes, Actinomyces spp., Bordetella bronchiseptica, Pasteurella spp. etc., excluding strains producing β-lactamase.
The mechanism of bactericidal activity is based on the on the blocking of the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall by inhibiting transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase.
Amoxicillin is quickly and fully absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into all organs and tissues of an animal. The maximum concentration of the antibiotic is reached in 1-2 hours after injection in blood, lungs and bronchopulmonary secretion. The veterinary drug is excreted with urine; a small amount is excreted with bile.
Dosage:
The drug is administered to animals and poultry orally individually or in groups in the following doses:
When the group method of administration is used, the following ratios is recommended:
For poultry, the recommended dose is 10–20 mg of the drug per 1 kg of bird body weight once a day for 3-5 days.
For the preparation of treatment solutions, it is recommended to use the following ratios:
The treatment solution should be prepared daily. During the period of application of the drug, the prepared solution should be the only source of drinking water for animals and poultry.
Considering that the maximum solubility of the drug in water is 6 g / l, at low temperatures (2–8 °C), the solubility of the drug decreases to 3–5 g / l. When preparing a concentrate for drinking or dispensing, it is recommended to make a solution of the drug with a concentration not exceeding 3 g / l, and then administer it according to the required doses.
Rinse all containers and pipelines after the end of treatment.
The drug is thermostable, does not lose its properties during heat treatment at a temperature of 100 °C.
Precautions and adverse reactions:
When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications generally are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, allergic reactions (skin rash, erythema, itching) are possible, in piglets - swelling of the rectum, with prolonged use - dysbacteriosis. With the manifestation of side effects, the the drug is cancelled, antihistamines and calcium preparations are prescribed.
Do not use in animals and poultry which are known to be hypersensitive to penicillins and cephalosporins, as well as in case of impaired renal excretory function. Do not use the drug to replacement young chickens less than 2 weeks before the start of egg laying and to ruminants with developed forestomach.
In case of the overdose of the veterinary drug, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. In this case, the drug is canceled and, if necessary, symptomatic treatment is prescribed.
Do not use simultaneously with antibiotics from groups of tetracycline, macrolides, lincosamides, sulfonamides and amphenicols.
Аfter the first administration and cancellation no special aspects are revealed.
Avoid missing scheduled administration of the Аmoxicillin-800 as it may lead to a decrease of therapeutic efficacy. If administration of the veterinary drug is missed, resume it in the same dosage according to the same scheme. Do not offset the missed dose by increasing the next one.
The possibility of using the drug during pregnancy and lactation is determined by veterinarian based on the ratio of benefit to the possible risk of using the drug.
Do not use for poultry, whose eggs are used for human consumption.
Withdrawal period:
Animals must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 15 days after the last treatment; poultry - within 1 day after the last treatment. Meat of animals and poultry forcibly slaughtered earlier than the specified period may be used for feeding carnivores.
