Tiamulin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit that leads to the inhibition of the protein biosynthesis in the microbial cell.
Being administered orally, the antibiotic is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and distributed in organs and tissues. Maximum concentration of tiamulin in the organism is reached after 2 hours after the drug administrartion in pigs; in poultry - after 4 hours.
