Muscalure

Application:

The product is used to kill winged flies, mosquitoes, cockroaches, fleas and other insects in livestock buildings, feed kitchens, dispensaries, isolation units and other premises at facilities subjected to veterinary supervision.

Composition:

MUSCALURE contains 10% thiamethoxam as an active substance and tricosene-z-(9) (fly sex pheromone), lactose, sucrose among other excipients.

Biological activity:

Thiamethoxam, the active substance of the product, has a contact and intestinal insecticidal effect. It is active against winged flies, fleas, cockroaches and other arthropods living in livestock buildings, including those resistant to organophosphorus insecticides, pyrethroids and carbamates.
Thiamethoxam is a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor antagonist that causes hyperpolarization of the insect nerve fiber membrane and leads to prolonged opening of sodium channels, resulting in convulsions, paralysis and death of insects. Does not cause cross-resistance to other neonicotinoids. It has selective toxicity to insects, with little or no effect on warm-blooded animals.

The sex pheromone of flies, tricosene-z-(9), ensures the attraction of insects, and the presence of sucrose in the composition contributes to the willing consumption of the insecticid agent by flies.

Residual insecticidal action of the product on surfaces, depending on the method of treatment and type of surface, lasts 4-8 weeks.

In the recommended concentrations, the insecticid agent does not have local irritating and sensitizing effects. Toxic to fish and bees.

Usage:

The agent is applied as a working solution on surfaces by brush strokes or by spraying.

The product is applied dry or as a working solution on surfaces by brush strokes or by spraying. When used dry, moistening the granules significantly increases the attractiveness of the bait for flies.

Surface treatment by brush strokes: the working solution of the insecticid agent is prepared in a separate container, mixed with water at room temperature in proportion of 400 g of the agent per 320 ml of water and stirred until a homogeneous solution is obtained. The prepared solution is applied to the surface with a brush in strips of 10×30 cm, at least 30 strips. The resulting solution is sufficient to treat a room with a floor area of ​​160 m². 

The duration of insecticidal action with this method of application is 6-8 weeks.

Surface treatment by spraying: Dissolve 400 g of product in 3.2 liters of water at room temperature in the container of the sprayer with stirring until a homogeneous solution is obtained. The solution is treated with at least 30% of the surface area of ​​the walls and ceiling. The prepared solution is enough to treat a room with a floor area of ​​80 m².

The duration of the insecticidal action with this method of treatment is 4-6 weeks.

Treatment of premises using bait stations (to kill imago flies): granules of the product are placed on substrates (lid or saucer) in amount of 2.5 g per 1 bait station, that is enough for an area of 1 m². Place the bait stations in places where flies are most abundant, avoiding cold areas and draughts. The bait can be moved to other locations with the highest fly population during the period of its action.

Re-treatment is carried out according to entomological conditions: in case of flies accumulation or their permanent arrival in the premise.

Selectively treat with working solution the surfaces preferred by insects (warm sunny walls, window frames, ceiling lamps). 

In places unsuitable for applying the agent, or where its application is undesirable, the agent should be applied to strips of cardboard or polyethylene tape and hung in the room.

In pigsties, the surface of the walls should be sprayed at a height of more than 1.5 m, and in cattle farms - above 2 m.

The prepared solution must be used within one working day. If the treatment process has been suspended for more than 30 minutes, the solution should be re-mixed before use.

The product should not be applied to dirty, highly porous or freshly whitewashed surfaces.

At the time of treatment, animals are removed from the premises, as well as the remains of food, water and dairy equipment; milking equipment is covered with plastic wrap, and eggs are collected in poultry houses.

Bringing back animals  into the premises is allowed after the complete drying of the treated surfaces. 

It is forbidden to treat feeders and drinkers, surfaces that will come into contact with food, as well as surfaces that can be licked by animals.

Safety information:

All work with the product is carried out by veterinarians or persons trained in the safe work with insecticides.

Persons under the age of 18 and those suffering from allergic diseases are not allowed to work with the product.

When working with the product, use overalls (safety clothing, dust mask, headwear, rubber gloves, boots). 

When preparing and using working solutions, avoid dusting and contact of granules or solution with the skin, eyes and respiratory organs; it is forbidden to eat, drink and smoke.

After work, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and rinse your mouth with water.

In case of scattering of granules, they should be swept from the surface and then this place, thoroughly moistened with water, thoroughly washed.

If the agent or its solution enters the respiratory tract, the affected person should immediately be taken out to fresh air and get medical help; in case of contact with skin, wash off with plenty of water and soap; in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with running water for several minutes.

If signs of poisoning appear, the person with such signs should immediately contact a medical professional.

Empty product containers must not be used for household purposes and must be disposed of with household waste.

Storage conditions:

Store in a closed container, in place protected from light at a temperature from plus 10 ° C to 30 ° C. Keep out of the reach of children.

Shelf-life:

Shelf life is 3 years from the date of production. Working solution is usable within 24 hours. Do not use after expiration date.
