Therapeutic indications:

The drug is used in cattle, pigs, dogs, cats and fur-bearing animals:

• as an immunomodulating agent in the complex therapy of infectious diseases, when the secondary immunodeficiency is possible to occur;
• to correct leukopenia, lymphocytopenia and agranulocytosis;
• to significantly enhance the biological activity of vaccines (before or simultaneous vaccine administrartion);
• to eliminate intoxication and bacterial complications;
• to improve wound and ulcer healing.

The drug is used for the prevention and alleviation of stress and its consequences in animals during transportation and pre(post)operative periods.  Also RIBONORM is used for the treatment of non-infectious diseases in combination with other drugs.

Composition of the veterinary drug:

1 ml of the drug contains:

• 2 mg of sodium salt of ribonucleic acid obtained from Saccharomyces cerevisiae as an active substance.

Pharmacological activity:

The sodium salt of ribonucleic acid has a wide spectrum of biological activity. It indices leukocyte reaction responses; stimulates haematopoiesis, natural resistance (phagocytic activity, interferon synthesis; increases the level of lysozyme, properdin, β-lysine), as well as T- and B-systems of immune response; increases the antitoxic resistance of the animal organism; accelerates tissue regeneration processes.

The active substance of the drug reduces the toxic effect of antibiotics, hormones and cardiac glycosides; eliminates or reduces the intensity of allergic reactions. The sodium salt of ribonucleic acid increases the effectiveness of bacterial and viral vaccines by increasing the level and duration of post-vaccination immunity.

Dosage:

The drug is administered to animals via subcutaneous or intramuscularly injection at a single dose indicated in the table given below:

For the prevention of infectious diseases in animals the drug is prescribed 2-3 times a month with regular intervals between injections. When the risk of mass infection is high, RIBONORM is prescribed once a day for 3-5 days.

For therapeutic purposes the drug is administered to animals once a day for 3-5 days. If necessary, after 10-15 days, the course of treatment is repeated.

In preoperative stage the drug is administered once, in post-surgical period - 2-5 times with an interval of 3-5 days.

In the early stages of disease when its causes are unknown, use the drug 2-3 times with an interval of 3-5 days.

To eliminate the consequences of stressful conditions (during transportation, shearing of animals, etc.), the drug is administered to an animal 10-18 hours before the stressful situation is happened.

Precautions and adverse reactions:

Side effects and complications when using the drug in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. In animals with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug, allergic reactions may occur. In this case, the use of the drug is stopped, if necessary, antihistamines are prescribed, and symptomatic treatment is carried out.

Do not use the drug in animals with increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Symptoms of overdose in animals have not been identified.

After the first administration and cancellation, no peculiarities are revealed.

Avoid missing the next scheduled dose, as this may lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If administration of the veterinary drug is missed, resume it in the same dosage according to the same treatment scheme. Do not use a double dose to offset a missed one.

No specific effects of the drug on the reproductive function of animals, as well as during pregnancy and lactation, have not been revealed.

You may use the drug simultaneously with vitamins, serums, vaccines and chemotherapeutic agents.

Withdrawal period:

Meat and milk may be used for human consumption without any restrictions during and after the drug administration.

Storage conditions:

Store in a dark place at a temperature between +2 °C to +8 °C.

The drug should be kept out of reach of children.

Shelf-life:

Shelf-life of the veterinary drug is 12 months from the date of manufacture. Shelf-life after first opening is 14 days under appropriate storage conditions.

It is prohibited to use the drug after its expiry date.

Unused veterinary drug should be utilized in accordance with the requirements of the law.
